It has been rumored for more than two years, but now it seems pretty much confirmed; Futurama is back!
The only question that remains is, in what capacity? It will either be brought back as a TV series, or as a movie, the later of the two being the more likely choice. If it is revived as a movie, it will probably be a straight-to-DVD release, and most likely a three-episode format, just like the Family Guy movie.
The Futurama project has a tentative release date of sometime in 2007, with very few other details available. All the major voices (Bender, Leela, Fry, and Zoidberg) are apparently committed to the project, but all you really need is Billy West, who has apparently done every cartoon voice ever.

A movie would be cool, but in the long run, pretty gay. I mean, that Family Guy DVD wasnt so special...
I would rather have it back as a series.

The Family Guy movie wasn't so special because it was already on TV when the movie came out. Still, it was funny and decent.
If I'm not mistaken, the Family Guy movie was in talks before the series was set to be back in production. This may be a good sign that since Fox is willing to make a Futurama Movie, they may also be willing to reincarnate the series.
Simpsons could definitely be a decent movie, South Park already has a (great) movie, as did Family Guy (decent). As for Aqua Teen, there is also a movie in the works, set for release in 06, but I don't know how great that will be.
Aqua Teen is great as a 12 minute short, but as an hour-plus-long feature, I'm not so sure. Also, NEW EPISODES of Aqua Teen starting Sunday December 4 (this Sunday)!
